What I'm Reading

I just finished "Making a Good Brain Great" by Daniel G. Amen. I'm not really sure where to start. This book has changed my life. I feel like I should send a thank you note to Dr. Amen. The overall idea behind this book is exactly what the title says, make your good brain better. Dr. Amen has proven, over years of study that this is possible. Not only possible, but advisable. If you make your brain better, your quality of life will be better. Not giving anything away, there is a 15 days to a better brain section at the end of the book, that I have yet to implement, but it's on my list of things to do.

Add to this plan Dr. Amen's very easy to read writing style, his expressive story-telling, his passion for the brain, and the result is a wonderful book that I recommend to everyone I talk to.

You can check out the book at Amazon here.

You can also check out Dr. Amen's website for his clinics here.

Take the time to read this book, you won't regret it.

American Inventor?

So my latest (and in this case first) rant is about stickers. I know, it sounds a little strange, but let me explain. I can be very opinionated about certain things, and one of those things happens to be a combination of laziness and stupidity. You might be wondering what this has to do with stickers, well I'll tell you. I was eating a plum this evening and tried to remove the sticker that is on each and every piece of fruit you buy these days (maybe I need to shop somewhere other than Acme). Anyway, the real problem I have is with the glue that is used to affix the sticker to the fruit. Do they want me to eat this piece of paper? I think someone must, because otherwise it would come off easier. Let's face it, it CAN'T be because there is no alternative, right? I mean there has to be a better glue out there, right? And it's not just fruit, it's picture frames too. I can't tell you when the last time I bought a picture frame that didn't require me to remove the sticker with WD40. What is going on here? We build computer circuits with nano-technology (Click here for proof), we put men on the moon, and we clone animals, but no one has figured out a way to make a glue that is a little more sticky than your average Post-It note, but not quite as sticky as say Krazy-Glue? I think someone on American Inventor should come up with this solution. It will make my life much easier. And really, when you think about it, that's the goal, right?

My Two Cents

Here's the deal......I read a lot of different news stories on the web, and sometimes i like what I read, and other times I become very frustrated. I wanted to start this blog as a way for me to vent about news stories that I read. I will provide links to each of the stories (isn't Google great?), and you can either agree or disagree with my opinions, but whatever you decide, leave a comment. If it catches my attention, maybe I will write back.

That's it, thanks for checking out my blog. Check back soon for updates.
